Rules

The Amateur Brewing Competition of the Northern Territory is a BJCP sanctioned event open to all interested amateur brewers residing in the Northern Territory.

  1. All entries must be made using private equipment by amateur brewers (i.e., no use of commercial facilities or brew on-premises operations etc.).
  2. Fix one entry label per clean bottle with a rubber band only – no tape. No names required.
Vessels containing beer should be at least 270ml volume in glass, PET plastic or can. Two bottles are required for eligibility in the best of show prize.
  3. The fee of $8.00 per entry must be paid prior to the entry cutoff date.
  4. All entries will be picked up from drop-off locations the day of the drop-off deadline.
  5. Beer judging guidelines can be found on aabc.org.au with the exception of the ginger beer category which is available at ntbrewers.org
  6. The competition organisers are not responsible for incorrectly categorised entries, mailed entries that are not received by the entry deadline or that arrived damaged, or for the loss or damage to any entry, entry form, or fee.
  7. Entrants are bound by the competition rules. The judges’ and Competition Director’s decision is final and no dispute will be entered into.
  8. Judges will evaluate and score each entry. The average of the scores will rank each entry in its category.
The competition committee reserves the right to combine overall style categories based on number of entries. All possible effort will be made to combine similar styles. All brews in combined categories will be judged according to the style they were originally entered in.
  9. The ginger beer style is NT only and winning this category does not provide eligibility to AABC.
  10. By entering the competition, entrants accept the competition rules, conditions of entry and categories and styles and are bound by these conditions.
Participants must declare any conflict of interest before taking part in the administration or judging of a competition.
